- Location: Backstage, 9350 Markham Road, Markham, Ontario

Audition Dates:
- Monday, December 1 – 7:00pm
- Wednesday, December 3 – 7:00pm
- Fight Audition: Sunday, December 7 – 12:30pm
- Callbacks: Sunday, December 7, after Fight Audition (if necessary)

Schedule
- Performance Dates: April 29 – May 2, 2026
- Rehearsals: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays starting February 17, 2026
- Fight Rehearsals: During January and February, 2026 (Dates TBA)
About the Show
Ken Ludwig’s *Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood* is a high-energy, swashbuckling comedy filled with romance, adventure, and nonstop laughs. A fresh take on the classic legend, this tale brings together a ragtag band of Merry Men (and Women!) fighting the good fight for justice and laughter in Sherwood Forest.
What to Prepare
- If auditioning for specific characters and you have not auditioned for MLT before, please prepare a **1-minute comedic monologue**.
- Sides will be provided at the audition.
- For ensemble roles you will be asked to read from sides at the audition.
- Be prepared for cold readings and light movement.
- For certain roles, a fight call audition will be necessary.
Character Breakdown
**Note:** Ensemble roles will play multiple parts and may be involved in movement/swordplay.

Robin Hood – (20s–30s, Male-presenting)
Charming, witty, and noble. A reluctant hero who grows into his role as the leader of the rebellion. Strong stage presence, swordplay/movement experience a plus. -
Maid Marian – (20s–30s, Female-presenting)
Intelligent, capable, and fiercely independent. Not a damsel in distress—she’s a fighter and a strategist. Comedic timing and stage combat experience a plus. -
Little John – (30s–50s, Male-presenting)
Robin’s loyal friend. Gruff and grumbly on the outside, soft-hearted on the inside. Strong physical presence, great comedic instincts. -
Friar Tuck – (30s–60s, Any gender)
A jolly, witty, and unexpectedly wise cleric with a rebellious streak. Loves good food, drink, and a good fight when necessary. Versatile comic actor. -
Deorwynn – (20s–30s, Female-presenting)
A brave and outspoken young woman of the lower class who joins Robin’s cause. Smart, resourceful, and a quick learner. Strong emotional range. -
Prince John – (30s–50s, Male-presenting)
The vain, cowardly, and villainous brother of King Richard. Loves power and luxury. A master of manipulation. Big comedic villain energy. -
The Sheriff of Nottingham – (30s–60s, Male-presenting)
Ruthless and calculating, but not without his own dry wit. Loyal to Prince John, he is the enforcer of tyranny. Strong villain type with presence. -
Sir Guy of Gisbourne – (20s–40s, Male-presenting)
A brutish and arrogant knight. Loyal to the Sheriff and Prince John. Less brains, more brawn. Excellent physical comedy opportunity. Strong stage presence, swordplay/movement experience a plus. -
Much the Miller – (40s, Any Male-presenting)
The father of Deorwynn, he is bullied and harassed by Sir Guy and the Sherriff. -
Ensemble Roles – (Teens and up, All genders)
Includes villagers, soldiers, outlaws, servants, nobles, etc.

You must be a member of MLT to take part in a production. Membership fees, which cover an entire season (September – May) cost $25.
